Formula
cm = (feet × 12 + inches) × 2.54
The international foot equals exactly 12 inches and the inch equals exactly 25.4 mm. A combined measurement is first reduced to inches and then converted to centimetres. Forms such as 5 ft 11 in and 5'11" are handled as one measurement.
