Formula
GiB = GB × 1,000,000,000 ÷ 1,073,741,824
GB uses the decimal giga prefix, or 10⁹ bytes. GiB uses the binary gibi prefix, or 2³⁰ bytes. That is why a capacity expressed in GB has a smaller numerical value when expressed in GiB.
Note : Manufacturers and operating systems may label these prefixes differently, so check the unit being displayed.
